It's interesting right, the PIGGIES don't have any evidence the man has a gun in his car yet during a TRAFFIC STOP, they use it as a means to search the car, impound it and arrest him while finding nothing. He complied with the orders related to the traffic stop so why escalate it to more than what it should be?
With no direct evidence tying him to the murders, prosecutors relied heavily on his Facebook posts, which they say celebrated the murders. He says he was just posting rap lyrics.
“I regret it too, because back then I wrote something stupid on Facebook every day,” Hoskins told us.
In the end, a jury convicted Hoskins of conspiracy to commit murder. The next eight years in prison were almost more than he could bear.
“It was hell,” Hoskins said. “I thought the world was over. I attempted suicide a couple times. It was a dark time in my life.”
That dark time ended last year when the California Supreme Court overturned his conviction. The justices ruled unanimously there was no evidence he ever committed or participated in any act of violence.
Our guess is that this man has a record (overturned) that cops can see when they run plates so they use a traffic stop as a means to order him around violating his rights and going against years of case law forbidding police from doing this. Deeper into the article you can see a pattern of this gross behavior of stopping him under some pretense and then letting him go.
FURTHERMORE, a jury convicted him of a crime he never committed in this day and age leading to a court to look into it to see the jury was wrong and I would say racially biased. He did stupid shit on Facebook, how the hell is that even admitted as evidence in court as if it proves direct involvement in violent crime? Should we arrest partisans too because they celebrated violent political crimes too? We have lists then if that is the case.
They had to pay him millions for their mistake. Taxpayer money... oh a shock isn't it? Stop the stupid rulings and your bias if you don't want your money going to people wrongfully in prison.
Anyway, San Diego piggies admitted that they overpolice black areas because 'socioeconomic' conditions. That's enough to sue them. Effectively promotes selective prosecution based on a protected characteristic.
