Funny thing is that they are typically pro take away your civil rights and pro let the police do whatever they want. Small groups funded by a bunch of right wing nuts who happen to run into money. These groups always have these names Keep Dallas Safe, Dallas Justice Now, and Protect Texas Kids that sound straightforward, but what the names imply themselves are very subjective to the beholder.

Here's what astroturfers do online or in person:

In person: They'll try to figure out your position on things and then attempt to hammer at points that seem reasonable and actionable.

Online: They'll spam reddit, nextdoor, or any social media channel with vote for "prop 1" or whatever issue they are trying to push. They'll post against and downvote those who are against them. They'll engage lightly with those who "support" their position. Reddit had a lot of this activity until sub moderators started banning it.

Events: They'll burn homeless camps or fake ones anyway. You saw it in Austin where there was a stark increase in fires up to the proposition. After they got what they wanted out of voters, it stopped. Two woman were sought after for this activity, you can only bet who their connections were. They did pushed this to increase property values. The economic incentive was too great.

“There are several organizations in our community that appear to be liberating campaigns in form but in essence are pushing corporate and private educational agendas to profit and continue exploitative relationships in our communities,” Tyehimba said. “They use Black faces and liberating narratives to deceive folks. We call these astroturf groups.” 

They tried to use Akwete Tyehimba, the CEO of PanAfrican Connection, to increase their reach by using black oriented meeting spaces to spread their version of "the good news." Luckily she researched them and broke any ties with Dallas Justice Now (DJN).

If these astroturfing groups can use unwitting African Americans against their own interest, these astroturfers will. They will act like they are helping and supporting you with freedom, education, crime, economy, whatever jives at the moment. Virtue signaling of the highest order with negative consequences. They are asking for your support in helping them amplify the reach of their deception.

It should really make you question why astroturfers want to push school choice, banning books, propositions targeting the poor and question why certain events only increase in frequency around a particular time then go away after the election season is over. If it's good for you why do they need to astroturf?
