Blackphobia is a Huge Reason Why "No Trepassing" Laws Exist
"The Black Forager" explains some of the history

Didn't expect a history lesson today and not one from someone excited about foraging. Foraging is something I'd do in video games, but if you thought about what a forager would look like in America surely it would be a White person or even a Native American if you lived near tribal areas.

The American Civil War was supposed to be the war that freed enslaved people, but it's pretty clear that freedom is only for the elite and majority. The "freedoms" given to the non-majority groups are revocable at any time as shown by "No Trespassing" laws. The idea of "No Trespassing" was supposed to be around the immediate home rather than the land, but the freedom of enslaved people presented a challenge for white slave owners. It meant that these "free" people could feed themselves for free by the way of foraging and that just wasn't PROFITABLE for white land owners.
